Interval Training

Interval training is a great way to condition your heart and build your endurance. I treat interval training sessions as my “quickie” workouts. Since you’re working harder during short bursts of energy, you don’t need to work out as long. This is my go-to interval training plan, which I do on the elliptical.

0-2:29 4
2:30-4:59 8
5:00-7:29 12
7:30-9:59 16
10:00-12:29 12
12:30-14:59 8
15:00-17:29 4
17:30-19:59 8
20:00-22:29 12
22:30-24:59 16
25:00-27:29 12
27:30-30:00 8

This workout will really get your heart rate up, so make sure that you finish with at least a 5 minute cool down.
