Today I tried not to dwell on the monstrosity that is about to blow through the state of South Carolina. If it rains, it rains. And if it rains, it’s going to be raining on everyone running the half marathon, not just me. My time for self pity has come and gone and now it’s time to get my game face on. I took today easy and got done some laundry, some grocery shopping, some fro-yo consumption, and picked up my race packet.
For a carb-loaded dinner, I cooked up butternut squash ravioli and added marinara sauce, a bit of feta cheese, and fresh oregano & thyme from the garden. To reward myself for my new, more positive perspective, I finished my night with 6 Girl Scout shortbread cookies
I laid out all of my gear so that I’m good to go at 5 a.m. when my alarm clock goes off.
I’m off to bed now. Wish me luck, and pray to the weather gods for me!
