Rain Rain Go Away

One thing is evident from my decision to move from Rochester, NY to the warm, sunny state of South Carolina for college. I hate the snow.

But I also happen to hate the rain. I would highly prefer that nothing ever fall from the sky again unless it’s chocolate covered almonds or cheesecake bites. This non-stop cold rainy crap that has invaded South Carolina’s weather for the past week or so is starting to drive me crazy. However, I’m trying to be positive about it and find things around the apartment to get done.

For breakfast, I made myself a bowl of oatmeal using 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup almond milk, and cinnamon, and crumbled one of my cinnamon carrot muffins on top. I also enjoyed a big mug of coffee.

Taking advantage of the less-than-favorable weather, I decided to get a start on homework and class projects. Since I am missing classes all next week to work the Master’s Golf Tournament, I want to get all of my work done ahead of time.

Here are my accomplishments of the day:

Did some laundry

I find it rather humorous that 95 percent of my laundry these days are workout attire. I only had 2 actual shirts that needed to be hung out in my closet. Do I even wear normal clothes anymore?

socks, yoga pants, workout shorts, workout shirts

and my two lonely closet-appropriate shirts

For lunch I toasted pita pockets and filled them with a veggie burger, feta cheese, and hummus.

Treadmill Workout

I ran 4 miles on the treadmill at a 1% incline (it’s appalling to me how 105_2068much of a difference that 1% incline makes) in 35 min 15 sec.

Then enjoyed a peanut butter-banana protein shake.

Worked the O-Rec Office

a.k.a. read 3 chapters of Marketing and got the next week and a half’s worth of  Marketing homework out  of the way. Kudos to productivity.

Officially chose my Study Abroad classes

I will be taking:

Fashion Marketing

Fashion Photography

International Marketing

The Mediterranean Diet: Guide to Healthy Living

Italian Language Beginner

In conclusion, as much as I dislike rainy weather I suppose it motivates me to accomplish some of the tedious little tasks that I tend to avoid when it’s 80 degrees and sunny out. I will go to bed tonight feeling rather accomplished!

What do you like to do on a typical rainy day?
